Spiced Apple And Cranberry Compote |
1 package dried apples - (6 oz) 1/2 cup dried cranberries - (2 oz) 2 1/2 cups cranberry juice cocktail 1/2 cup Rhine wine or apple juice 1/2 cup honey 2 cinnamon sticks -- broken into halves Frozen yogurt or ice cream -- (optional) Additional cinnamon sticks -- (optional) |
Mix apples, cranberries, juice, wine, honey and cinnamon stick halves in slow cooker. Cover and cook on LOW 4 to 5 hours or until liquid is absorbed and fruit is tender. Remove and discard cinnamon stick halves. Ladle compote into bowls. Serve warm, at room temperature or chilled with scoop of frozen yogurt. Garnish with additional cinnamon sticks, if desired. |
