Meaty Spaghetti Sauce |
1 1/2 pounds ground chuck 1/2 pound Italian sausage 1 large onion -- chopped 1 bell pepper -- chopped 2 garlic cloves -- minced 2 tablespoons sugar 2 teaspoons salt 1 teaspoon dried leaf basil 1 teaspoon dried oregano leaves 1/8 teaspoon crushed red pepper 2 cans Italian-style tomatoes - (16 oz ea) -- broken up 1 can tomato sauce - (8 oz) 1 can tomato paste - (6 oz) |
Remove sausage from casings; brown with ground beef in a skillet, breaking up with a wooden spoon. Drain and add to crockpot with remaining ingredients. Stir well. |
