Hot mulled apple cider |
4 quarts apple cider 1 cup firmly packed brown sugar 9 whole cloves 9 whole allspice 4 cinnamon sticks, broken into 1-inch pieces 2 lemons, thinly sliced |
Tie cloves, allspice and cinnamon in a cheesecloth bag; place in 5-quarts electric Dutch oven with cider and sugar; simmer 5 minutes. Set control at warm to keep cider hot. Just before serving, remove spice bag and float lemon slices. Serve in mugs. |
